High speed photometry.
Abstract
Equipment for recording the light of rapidly variable objects, and the methods of analysis of the data are described. The equipment has been used in searches for regular fluctuations in the light received from the directions of pulsars and supernovae remnants, and in the light of white dwarf stars, a flare star, the nuclei of normal and Seyfert galaxies, some radio sources, the remnant of Nova (DQ) Herculis 1934 and the central star of M57. The known variability of DQ Her and NP 0532 has been confirmed, and upper limits are placed on any other variations.
