On the Absorption-Line Spectrum of 4c 05.34

Eight acceptable absorption redshifts are found in the spectrum of 4C 05.34 reported by Lynds. The absorption redshifts range from z = 2.875 to z = 1.776. An average nonsense spectrum has 1.4 acceptable redshifts. The absence of absorption from excited fine-structure states implies that the absorbing region has an electron density <102 and is at a distance >1 kpc from the continuum source of the QSO.
