Axial compressor stall
Abstract
Rotating stall is the direct cause of blade failures in resonant vibration as well as the indirect cause of mechanical problems due to the frequently associated duality in compressor behavior. The effects of compressor stall on aircraft engines are examined with emphasis on the mechanical properties of compressor blades, single stage stall, and multistage stall.
