Effects of cable splices on thermocouple channel uncertainties
Abstract
A typical thermocouple circuit is comprised of thermocouple cable splices between the measurement and reference junctions as well as several cable splices between the reference junction and the data system input. It is noted that all wire samples having the same nominal composition do not possess identical emf-temperature characteristics. The effect of splices between dissimilar cable sections on thermocouple data channel inaccuracy is described.
