The structure of 208Pb has been investigated using the 209Bi(d, 3He)208Pb reaction at 50 MeV. Angular distributions have been measured from 10-50° lab for 15 levels in 208Pb. These states in 208Pb are considered to be populated through their [1h92, (nlj)-1] proton particle-hole components. Spectroscopic factors have been extracted for each state and compared with those predicted by a recent random-phase-approximation calculation of Kuo and Brown. Generally good agreement between theory and experiment results.
