Role of the Initial Temperature in the Equations of State of an Elastic Dielectric
Abstract
Partial differential equations are derived which describe the initialtemperature dependence of the equations of state of an elastic dielectric. These equations are applied to the case in which the equations of state can be represented by polynomials of degree 2 in the independent field variablesthe displacement gradient and the electric displacement field. The special case of material symmetry m3m is introduced and applied to NaCl. It is found that for this crystal the initial temperature and the temperature of the system play equally significant roles in the equations of state.
