Optical constants of the solid atmospheric gases N 2, O 2 and CO 2
Abstract
From energy loss measurements with 60 keV electrons on solid N 2, O 2 and CO 2 the energy loss functions Im(-1/ɛ) and the frequency dependent dielectric constants ɛ = ɛ 1 + iɛ 2 were calculated. The ɛ 2-spectra of the solids are compared with the energy loss spectra of 60 keV electrons in gaseous N 2, O 2 and CO 2.
