Photoproduction of ϱO mesons on deuterons between 1 and 5 GeV

The reactions γd→d π⁺π^- and γd→pn π⁺π^- have been investigated in a deuterium bubble chamber. Invariant mass spectra are presented; ϱ^O production is dominant in both reactions. Differential and total cross sections for ϱ^O production have been determined. The results are compared with the reaction γp→p ϱ^O within the framework of the impulse approximation, assuming equal ϱ^O photoproduction amplitudes on the proton and the neutron.
