Brightness and Polarization Structure of Three Supernova Remnants at 6-AND 11-centimeter Wavelengths
Abstract
Distributions of brightness and polarization of three known supernova remnants Puppis A, W28, and PKS 1459-41 (S.N. 1006) have been measured at 6- and 11-centimeter wavelengths. Significant polarization has been detected in all three sources. The distribution of the derived magnetic fields has a tendency to be tangential to the rim on the shell side of the sources Pup A and W28, whereas it tends to be approximately radial for the supernova remnant of A.D. 1006.
