Further Spectroscopic Observations of Quasi-Stellar Objects and Radio Galaxies
Abstract
Spectroscopic observations of nineteen quasi-stellar objects and five radio galaxies have been made with the Lick 120-inch telescope. Redshifts were determined for fourteen QSOs and all of the radio galaxies; in five QSOs only one emission was measured. Four and possibly five of the QSOs of largest redsliift have absorpfion lines. In the three cases analyzed, the absorptions are at redshifts close to the emission4ine redshifts, andresumably arise in gas associated with the QSO. The QSO SC 2.56, with probably the largest observe redshift, has become extremely faint and should be continuously monitored. Some misidentified radio sources are listed.
