An improvement of the iterative minimization method of calculating the elements in the effipsoid-ellipsoid model is presented. For the sphere-sphere model it becomes possible to introduce a new procedure for finding a minimum of the minimized function. Knowledge of the initial elements is unnecessary. Probable errors of the limb-darkening coefficents and of the relative luminosities can be calculated. New elements of W Ursae Majoris in blue and yellow are given. The method has been checked using synthetic light curves of known elements.
