A study of the southern open clusters : TR 27, TR 28, NGC 6416, NGC 6425.
Abstract
A photometric study on the UBV-system of the southern open clusters Tr 27, Tr 28, NGC 6416 and NGC6425, based on a photoelectric sequence in the open cluster NGC 6405, was undertaken photographically using plates taken with the Uppsala and Lembang Schmidt telescopes. For zeropoint corrections of the photographic photometry at least 7 stars in each cluster were measured photoelectrically using the 40" and 16" telescopes at Siding Spring Station of Mt. Stromlo Observatory. Fundamental data of the open clusters are obtained using Becker's method. They indicate that Tr 27 and Tr 28 are located at the Sagittarius spiral arm as delineated by optical spiral tracers, while NGC 6416 and NGC 6425 are interarm objects. The cluster membership of several interesting stars located in the cluster area is discussed.
