An Investigation of the Spectra and Time Variations of Galactic Water-Vapor Sources.
Abstract
Seven galactic water-vapor sources were observed during April and May of 1969 using the NRAO 140-foot telescope. Orion and W49 exhibited time variations on the scale of a few days, while variations in W75 (DR 21) and W3 occurred over a longer period. W3 OH and VY Canis Majoris appear to be constant over a period of several months. Linear polarization was observed in four sources, and a possible correlation between time variation and polarization is suggested by some of the data
