Circumstellar Infrared Emission from Two Peculiar Objects-R Aquarii and R Coronae Borealis
Abstract
Observations have been made at wavelengths from 2.8 to 14 j~ of the carbon-rich peculiar variable R Coronae Borealis and the M7 variable associated with an emission nebula R Aquarii. It has been found that both of these objects show fluxes of infrared emission greater than the fluxes expected from the stars alone. These inIrared excesses are attributed to circumstellar matter. The results are compared with the excess infrared radiation from cool stars and the infrared from the planetary nebula NGC 7027 that have been observed in earlier work
