Timelike Reflection: the Coupling between Time Reversal and the Poincaré Group
Abstract
Timelike reflection through arbitrary spacelike hyperplanes is discussed as the covariant generalization of time reversal. The von Neumann algebra generated by the set of all timelike reflections is shown to contain the connected segment of the Poincaré group. The equations of motion for the antilinear operators of motion reversal on arbitrary spacelike hyperplanes are derived, and consistency relations between the various hyperplane derivatives of the motion-reversal operators are obtained.
