ON the Absolute Magnitude and Effective Temperature of the Hydrogen-Poor Star HD 30353
Abstract
Interstellar polarization and reddening data for stars near HD 30353 were used to obtain a reddening excess E(B - V) = 0.35 and an absolute visual magnitude of -3.2. An effective temperature of 100000 K for HD 30353 was obtained by fitting photoelectric scans of the continuum to fluxes obtained from the model atmosphere of a hydrogen-poor star.
