Evidence for the production of N ∗(2830) in π +-p interactions at 8 GeV/c

The energy dependence of cross-section for the reaction π ⁺+p→p+π ⁺+π ⁺+π ^- suggests that the T⩾ ³₂N∗(2830) isobar can decay into pπ ⁺π ⁺π ^-. This conjecture is confirmed by the appearane of 2.8 - 2.9 GeV peak in the pπ ⁺π ⁺π ^- invariant mass distribution from the reaction π ⁺+p→pπ ⁺π ⁺π ⁺π ^-π ^-π ^o studied at 8 GeV/ cπ ⁺ momentum.
