Evidence for the production of N ∗(2830) in π +-p interactions at 8 GeV/c
Abstract
The energy dependence of cross-section for the reaction π ++p→p+π ++π ++π - suggests that the T⩾ 32N∗(2830) isobar can decay into pπ +π +π -. This conjecture is confirmed by the appearane of 2.8 - 2.9 GeV peak in the pπ +π +π - invariant mass distribution from the reaction π ++p→pπ +π +π +π -π -π o studied at 8 GeV/ cπ + momentum.
