Radio-echo observations of the major night-time meteor streams. II, Geminids
Abstract
The results of radio-echo observations of the Geminid meteor shower during 1962 December and 1963 December are presented. In addition to the expected Geminid shower an additional peak in activity, indicating a second active radiant, was observed during the 1962 encounter. Radio magnitude distributions in the range + to + 6.8m were determined as a function of solar longitude for meteors associated with both the true Geminid radiant and the second active radiant. The experimental data are presented and their significance discussed.
