A Peculiar Emission Star in Cygnus, MHα 328-116
Abstract
Preliminary identification of seventy-seven emission lines in the spectrum of MHa 328-116 is given. The spectrum appears to be similar to that of a symbiotic variable. The emission lines are relatively sharp indicating a low-expansion velocity for the gaseous shell producing them. Only two very weak absorption lines are visible on our spectra (130 A/mm dispersion). The star has increased in brightness from 15.5 to 11.5 mag. since 1963. A light-curve for the period 1920-1965 is given.
