A solution of the regularized equations of motion of the restricted problem
Abstract
A solution, in the form of trigonometric series, of LeviCivita's regularized equations of the restricted problem is obtained by the method of general perturbations. The particle of infinitesimal mass moves under the predominant influence of a massive primary and under the perturbing influence of a smaller primary. Both circular and collision orbits may be treated, since there is no restriction on the eccentricity of the unperturbed orbit of the infinitesimal particle. The solution of the regularized equations exhibits some of the characteristics of a typical lunar or planetary theory: a reduction in the order of some terms, the appearance of mixedsecular terms that may be eliminated from the firstorder theory, and the possibility of small divisors in highorder terms.
