Tables of the line broadening function H(a,v)
Abstract
A tabulation is given of the line broadening function H(a, v) used in obtaining the line absorption coefficient Ip in stellar atmospheric absorption calculations. The tabulation is more extensive than previously available and covers the range 0 a < I and 0 V 22. The error in this tabulation is not greater than 2 in the sixth flgure. Methods of calculation and means whereby the accuracy can be checked are discussed. A list of least square polynomial coefficients, where H(a, v) has been polynomialized in a, are also given for calculation of the function at intermediate avalues. These are given at sufficiently closely spaced values of V to enable interpolation between these values to produce the function accurately at intermediate values of a andv.
