Viscosity of Neon—Helium and Neon—Argon Mixtures at 20° and 30°C
Abstract
The paper gives the results of the absolute determination of the viscosity of two binary systems of mixtures: neon—helium and neon—argon, together with those of the viscosity of the three pure components. The measurements were performed with the aid of our high-precision oscillating-disk viscometer at 20° and 30°C; they covered a range of pressures up to 35 atm (densities from 0 to 0.09 g/cm3).
The density effect can be expressed, essentially, in the form of a temperature-independent, linear correction in the case of the Ne-He mixtures, and in the form of a quadratic correction in the case of Ne-Ar mixtures, both applied to the excess viscosity ∆μ = μ—μ0 in which μ0 is a function of temperature only.- Publication:
