On the gold contents of rocks
Abstract
Forty-one materials have been examined for their gold contents by a neutron activation technique. The spread in gold concentrations was found to be relatively narrow, between 0.6 and 44 parts per billion, for the fairly wide variety of samples. A crustal gold abundance of ~2.5 ppb is indicated.
