A High-Resolution Radio Map of the Cygnus X Region.
Abstract
A map of the Cygnus X region, bounded by R.A. 20b10 20h50 , Dec. 38 30', 45 30' (1950.0), has en made at 1414 mc with the NRAO 300-foot radio telescope. The telescope beam width was 10'. The p shows further resolution of the region into a number, at least twenty-six, of discrete sources almost of which are associated with visible H Ir regions. The deduced parameters of the H Ir regions are ren. No good correlation with catalogued 0 and B stars or associations could be found. The brightest arce in the region appears to be a thermal source associated with the bright nebula near Cygni; hower, the expected ultraviolet radiation from that star seems grossly insufficient to produce the observed io-flux densities.
