Emission-Line Stars in the Region of NGC 2068.
Abstract
Forty-five stars ( = 15 () 20) having the Ha line in emission have been found in the general area of NGC 2068-2071, near the northeastern edge of Barnard's Loop nebulosity They are undoubtedly T Tauri stars. Their distribution over the observed area is conspicuously non-uniform. The fact that some emission-Ha stars lie completely outside the Loop clearly contradicts the hypothesis that the formation of these low-mass stars was triggered when the expanding Loop nebulosity swept across the region.
