Using the method of Cosyns-Vanderhaeghe we measured the distortions in emulsions fixed in hyposolutions which had concentrations varying between 15 and 50% and a constant pH-value. The experiments were carried out with three batches of emulsions. All distortion vectors K vary from about 2 μ to 20 μ independent of the treatment of the emulsion. It has been found, however, that in each emulsion a prefered direction of the distortion vectors exists, except those near the edges. The methods of measurement and calculation of the distortion vector and his error are discussed.
