On the Recent Past of Physics
Abstract
A brief account of current work in the history of modern physics is given to indicate that the interest of physicists in this field is rising, and that they are beginning to participate in greater numbers. The analyses by A. H. Compton, G. P. Thomson, C. D. Anderson, and W. F. G. Swann of their own early work are used to show some persistent characteristics of developing scientific work.
