Continuous Elemental Analysis of Organic Compounds in Gas-Chromatographic Effluents
Abstract
The compounds emerging from the gas-chromatographic column are quantitatively converted to a mixture of CO2 and H2. These gases are separated by means of an auxiliary column. The ratio of C and H atoms of each substance is deduced from the areas of carbon dioxide and hydrogen peaks.
