Effect of Nitric Oxide on the Radio-sensitivity of Tumour Cells
Abstract
FOLLOWING the important observation of Howard-Flanders1 that the presence of a low concentration of nitric oxide in the medium in which bacteria are suspended at the time of irradiation confers a level of radiosensitivity comparable with that of an equal concentration of dissolved oxygen, we have investigated the effects of nitric oxide on the radiosensitivity of tumour cells.
