Absorption Coefficients for Free-Free Transitions in a Hydrogen Plasma.
Abstract
Absorption coefficients for free-free transitions in a dilute hydrogen plasma have been calculated numerically, making use of results obtained for Bremsstrahlung from Sommerfeld's exact treatment and from the Born approximation as modified by Elwert. Results were obtained for a range of temperatures from 0.5 to 100.0 ev and a range of wave lengths from 500 to 10000 A. These results, including Gaunt factors, are given an Table 1.
