On the Effect of Fluid Motion on the Initial Decay of a Magnetic Field in a Sphere.
Abstract
Selection rules are derived which govern the interaction between the various axisymmetric modes of velocity and magnetic fields in a fluid conductor. These selection rules determine the initial rate of decay of a magnetic field.
