M-Type Stars in NGC 7419.
Abstract
From objective-prism infrared spectra the galactic cluster NGC 7419 was found to contain four early M supergiants and a late M star which is suspected to be a supergiant. In the infrared the earlytype cluster members are more than 2 mag. fainter than the M stars, as compared to the h and x Persei clusters, where the difference is 0.7. The red and infrared magnitudes of the stars in the cluster yield a total visual absorption of 5 mag.
