On the Spectrum of Chi Cygni Near the Time of Light-Maximum

Spectrographic observations of Cyg were made before and after its light-maximum in the 1950 cycle. From microphotometric tracings we derived the central intensity of some absorption lines and the actual emission of some emission lines in units of the intensity of the neighboring continuous spectrnm. In absorption, the features of the Ca 4227 line and the TiO band show interesting variations. In emission, Balmer lines are inclined to have M-type characteristics.
