Dirac's New Theory of the Electron
Abstract
IN the last section of a recent paper1, Dirac discusses his formulæ with the following words: ``An important feature of the new theory is that it involves only the ratio e/m, not e and m separately. This is what one should expect in a purely classical theory. The existence of e should be looked upon as a quantum effect, and it should appear in a theory only after quantization, and not be a property of classical electrons''.
