Radiation Pressure in the Point-Source Stellar Model.
Abstract
The effect of radiation pressure in a point-source stellar model is investigated. Envelopes in radiative equilibrium with the opacity following a corrected Kramers law are fitted to cores in convective equilibri- urn for four different values of the ratio of radiation pressure to gas pressure at the center. The theo- retical mass-luminosity-radius relation is obtained and is applied to determine the hydrogen content of a few stars. The model appears to be a possible one for stars of less than ten times the solar mass. It does not appear to be applicable to the Trumpler stars
