On the variation with temperature of the surface layer of superconducting mercury
Abstract
A method is described which makes it possible to investigate whether for superconducting mercury in bulk the penetration depth of a magnetic field shows a variation with temperature. It is found that such a change - if it exists - must be much smaller than that derived from the experiments of Appleyard c.s. and of Shoenberg on thin films and on colloidal mercury.
