Members of the Committee on Runoff were appointed last fall. The Committee since that time has been active in formulating plans of organization and procedure. Based upon correspondence with the members, the Committee organization has been divided into four sub-committees, as follows: (l) On Rainfall, Chairman, C. S. Jarvis, Washington; (2) On Runoff Percentage, Chairman, W. W. Horner, St. Louis; (3) Rainfall hydrographs of Runoff, Chairman, L. K. Sherman, Chicago; (4) Bibliography of Runoff and Data Re Research Agencies, Chairman, John C. Prior, Columbus, Ohio. The Chairman of the Sub-committee on Rainfall has been engaged during the past year on important hydrologic investigations in connection with the Delaware Survey Report (H.D. 308). He advises that this forthcoming report contains certain ideas of generalizing physical phenomena and their limits, with reference to periodicity of recurrence in a given locality, together with sufficient correlated data to warrant his conclusions.
