Post-Dissociation Radiation from Sulphur Trioxide
Abstract
ACCORDING to Franck's theory of photodissociation of the halogens, the effect of light absorption is to split I2 into a normal iodine and an excited iodine (2P½). No direct proof has yet been forthcoming that the metastable atoms are actually produced in the reaction.
