Production of neutron-excess nuclei in 56Fe-induced reactions

The observation of new neutron-rich isotopes of ^52-53Sc, ^54-55Ti, ⁵⁶V, and ^58-59Cr produced in damped collisions of 8.3 MeV/u ⁵⁶Fe ions with ²³⁸U and ²⁰⁹Bi is reported. Tentative identification for ⁵⁶Ti, ^57-58V, ⁶⁰Cr, ⁶¹Mn, and ⁶³Fe is also presented. NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²³⁸U(⁵⁶Fe, HI), E=8.3 MeV/u; nuclide identification and σ measurement for ^52-53Sc, ^54-55Ti, ⁵⁶V, and ^58-59Cr; tentative for ⁵⁶Ti, ^57-58V, ⁶⁰Cr, ⁶¹Mn, and ⁶³Fe.
