Magnetic fields in A stars
Abstract
Some theoretical problems associated with the presence of large-scale magnetic fields in A stars are reviewed. Possible implications of some recent theoretical and observational results are discussed, with particular attention to the survival of fields from the ISM and their long-term stability. A more coherent picture of the origin of the strong large-scale fields seen in the magnetic CP stars may be beginning to emerge.
