Shockwaves and their radiations: problems and prospects.
Abstract
Some models describing the structure of radiating shock waves in interstellar space are discussed, including the ionic shock zone model, the collisional ionization zone model, and the cooling-recombination zone model. Applications to some specific problems are then considered including supernova remnants, Herbig-Haro objects, ring nebulae associated with WR stars, and active galaxies.
