The early spectra of SN 1987A.
Abstract
Spectra computed from hydrodynamical models of SN 1987A at times less than 2 days after explosion are discussed. The earliest observations of the supernova are reviewed. Consideration is given to the difficulties in computed spectra from models describing early supernova behavior. Spectra from a hydrodynamical model at 1.52 are presented for several density profiles.
