A fast, real-time processor for speckle interferometry
Abstract
An alternative real-time processor for speckle interferometry is discussed, which offers speed, is not saturated by brighter images, and provides an optical display of the autocorrelation field. The new approach uses elements such as a light-emitting diode (LED) as the logical units of the correlator. The processor consists of a logic inverter, a series of digital relays, a set of LEDs to make the comparison at the different relative relays and a detector/integrator. The processor has been constructed and computer-generated binary images processed by it are shown.
