Scattering of radio waves in the solar corona
Abstract
The effect of small-scale overdense structures, referred to as fibers, on the scattering of radio waves in the solar corona is examined in a quantitative manner. First, the ray tracing calculations and the method used to incorporate the fibers are discussed. The parameters of the source and coronal models used are then described, and examples of ray paths traced through various coronal models are given. Finally, the results of calculations are presented.
