Megallanic Cloud cepheids - Abundances, reddenings, P-L and P-L-C relations - A review
Abstract
The cepheid variables of the Magellanic Clouds are characterized in a review of recent observational and statistical investigations. Topics examined include the rapid growth in the number of cepheids detected and in the number of observations available for analysis, problems in the determination of Fe/H abundance ratios, methods used to estimate reddening and absorption, and the period-luminosity and period-luminosity-color relationships in the BV and IR spectral ranges.
