Production of high energy ions in a tokamak during neutral injection heating
Abstract
The kinetics of ions in a tokamak is analyzed on the basis of the Balescu - Lenard equation. We show that the injection of a neutral beam (acting through charge exchange with the plasma) produces a population of high energy ions. The global energy increase is evaluated.
