High beam quality chirped pulse amplification laser based on plane-convex hybrid cavity Innoslab amplifier
Abstract
We demonstrated a 154 W femtosecond chirped pulse amplification laser with nearly diffraction-limited beam quality based on Yb:YAG Innoslab amplifier. The amplifier with a plane-convex hybrid cavity efficiently suppressed the self-lasing and achieved an output average power of up to 189 W. The evolutions of the Yb:YAG equivalent thermal lens effect and the output beam quality with the increasing pump power were also investigated. Finally, the laser featured pulse durations of 519 fs at 175 kHz repetition rate with a compression efficiency of about 94% and power stability of 0.28%.
