Designing moving magnet pumps for high-temperature, liquid-metal systems
Abstract
Development of an 8 [gal] sodium test facility. Moving magnet pumps (MMP) tested with 250 [°C] sodium. Improved analytical model used to account for non-sinusoidal magnetic fields. Pump performance agrees closely with experimental data. MMP's are broadly applicable to energy research and industries dealing with molten metal.
