What Can Be Learned from Modern Data?
Abstract
Our detailed knowledge about the Sun comes from instrumental observations, the precision and sophistication of which have rapidly increased over the last decades. The primary focus of this book lies in solar eruptive events. This chapter provides a review of what we know about solar eruptive events, especially about the strongest observed ones, from precise modern data.
