FDIR and OBSM in IMA for Space
Abstract
This paper discusses the impact of the introduction of Time and Space Partitioning (TSP) in Spacecraft On Board Software (OBSW) architecture on the On Board Software Maintenance (OBSM) and Fault Detection Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) strategies, as envisaged in the Integrated Modular Avionics for Space (IMA-SP) project. It presents how the existing services offered by the OBSW, the TSP infrastructure and the Real Time Operating Systems (RTOSes) can be integrated in this context. The other way round, it devises additional services required and a strategy to be implemented to support FDIR and OBSW in this new environment.
